Madams and Jeune Madams Cultural Showcase 2026

TORONTO, Canada — Dominican culture, fashion, talent and tradition took centre stage in Toronto on Sunday, September 20, as Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada Inc. presented the 15th annual Madame of Madams and Jeune Madams Cultural Showcase Competition.

Held at the St. Peter and Paul Banquet Hall in Toronto, the much-anticipated cultural celebration brought members of the Dominican community together for an afternoon highlighting one of Dominica’s most beloved national treasures, the elegant Wob Dwiyet  while celebrating creativity, talent and national pride.

The competition featured two categories, Madame of Madams and Jeune Madams, with contestants taking to the stage in a series of presentations that included the Introduction segment, the Cultural/ Creative/Costume and the Wob Dwiyet segment.

Competing in the Madame of Madams category were Tyria Benjamin, Christine Roberts, Audrica Aubrey, Revelyn St. John and Abina Dowe.

The Jeune Madams contestants were Krystal Elie, Yannaa John Jules, Christina Gillis and Nyasjah Joseph Bhagwandin.

In a stunning case of lightning striking twice, the first ever Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada- Revelyn St. John captured the hotly contested title of Madame of Madams 2026 and also won Madame Wob in 2012, while Krystal Elie captured the title of Jeune Madam 2026 and also won in 2014 as Ti Madame winner.

Tyria Benjamin was named first runner-up in the Madame Wob Dwiyet competition, while Abina Dowe secured the second runner-up position.

The showcase also featured performances by several Dominican entertainers, including Levi Supa L. Loblack, Hermina George, Nadia Harvey, and Novelys, adding music and entertainment to the afternoon’s cultural programme.

Serving as Masters of Ceremonies were Dwayne Murphy and Akua Delfish, who guided the audience through the afternoon’s festivities. DJ services were provided by Levi Loblack.

Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada Inc. – CEO Lorraine Delsol, co-founder; Glenora Joseph-Parker, co-founder; Vanessa Dupie and co-founder; Athenia Benjamin now Ambassador of Diaspora Affairs was in attendance, say they are confident they delivered on their promise to provide a top-class celebration to their audience. The 15th anniversary showcase brought together generations of Dominicans, and friends of Dominica in a colorful celebration of culture and community.

The annual event continues Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada Inc.’s mission of keeping Dominican traditions alive in Canada while introducing a new generation to the beauty, history and significance of the Wob Dwiyet.
