Abigail Pierre representing St. Joseph swept the special awards and won the title of 2016 Ti Madame Canada, at the Ti Madame Canada Cultural Pageant held recently in Toronto, Canada. The spot of 1st runner-up was taken by Hannah Sodhi representing Grand Bay, while the 2nd runner-up position was won by Isalina Delsol representing LaPlaine.


The six contestants also included Christina Gillis for Massacre, Cassy-Ann Harris for Mahaut and Nyla Palmer for Wesley. Pierre also won several special awards including “Best Introduction”, “Best Creative Wear” and “Best in Wob.” Isalina Delsol took the online award for “Belle Fleur”.

The young contestants thrilled the audience with their confidence, style (gam) and grace on stage. A slate of up and coming singers and entertainers also impressed patrons with their talent, including Elijah George, Joshua Nicholas, Sharleen Garrido, Venus Brown and the Mabouya Dance Group (Bele’).


The contestants wore colourful and vibrant Wob Dwiyet dresses designed and made by Lorraine Delsol, founder of House of Lorraine. Delsol is also the C.E.O of Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada Inc. (MWDC); the organization that staged the Ti Madame show. Sponsors for the Show included

The Judging panel consisted of four community personalities: Sherika Powell of Rogers T.V, Mary Galvan of the Durham Caribbean Festival, Chatt Bautista of the Josie De Leon School of Performing Arts and Krystal Elie, 2014 Ti Madame Canada. Karen Germaine Williams served as score sheet accountant. The hosts for the event were Sickle Cell advocate Jameeka Murdock and well known singer/songwriter and entertainer, Levi “Super L” Loblack.
