Dear OECS Nationals and Friends,

As many of you are aware, Hurricane Irma, impacted a number of territories and member states of the OECS, directly on September 5,
2017. The devastation and destruction caused by this powerful storm has left thousands of families in need of help. This was a “catastrophic” event for a number of the Islands: Antigua and Barbuda, St. Martin/St. Maarten, Anguilla, St. Barts, Tortola, St. Thomas. Other islands in the Sub-Region were also affected by this “monster” storm.

While there is an immediate need for food, clean water, shelter and hygiene supplies, the cost of supporting and sustaining this huge
emergency effort, will require ongoing financial assistance for some time. On behalf of the OECS Nationals Council, Canada, I ask you to give generously to help ensure families have the basic essentials to survive this tragedy. A direct contribution can be made to the following, but not limited to these established Canadian registered non-profit charities: The Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Fund. Deposits can be made at any Royal Bank of Canada – Transit # 06402, Account #1005040

The St. Kitts and Nevis Hurricane Disaster Relief Committee. Deposits can be made at any Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank – Branch # 1216, Account # 5232269. The charities will provide a tax rebate receipt for donations over $20.00.

Thank you for taking the time to care and share.
John L. Allen
Chair- OECS Nationals Council, Canada
